Remember

Remember Your Creator

This week's devotional is titled: Remember

Imagine setting an important reminder on your phone, but every time it goes off, you swipe it away without acting on it. Over time, it stops feeling urgent. Not because it lost its importance, but because you trained yourself to ignore it. This is how many people treat God.

In Scripture, the word “remember” goes far beyond simply thinking about something. In Hebrew thought, it carries a sense of action. To remember is to bring something to mind in a way that shapes what you do. When God “remembers” His people, it is not that He had forgotten them. It means He is about to move on their behalf.

So, when we are told to remember God, it is not a suggestion to think about Him occasionally. It is a call to live with a constant awareness of Him, one that influences decisions, priorities, and daily life.

It is possible to know about God and still not truly remember Him. It is possible to believe in Him while living as though He is not present. True remembrance means your life responds to Him. Your choices reflect Him. Your direction is shaped by Him. Anything less is just passive awareness.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to truly remember You. Not just in thought, but in the way I live each day. Shape my decisions, my priorities, and my actions so they reflect Your presence. Keep my heart aware of You and teach me to respond in obedience. Amen.
