When concrete is first poured, it can be shaped easily. But once it sets, changing it requires breaking it apart. Life works in a similar way.
The phrase “in the days of thy youth” carries urgency. Youth is not just a season of life, it is a season of formation. It is when habits take root, values are formed, and direction is set. What is shaped in this season often stays.
This is why delay is dangerous. Many people assume they can live however they want now and turn to God later. But each day of delay is shaping the heart. Independence begins to feel normal. Distraction becomes routine. God becomes secondary. Over time, the heart grows less responsive.
The issue is not just that time is passing. It is that time is forming you. You are becoming someone. The question is, who are you becoming?
If God is not shaping your life now, something else is. And whatever shapes you today will influence who you are tomorrow.
